Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Communications Surveillance Technology Specialist to design, develop, manage, and provide technical support for our Electronic Communications Surveillance systems. These systems are critical in reviewing employee communications to mitigate reputational and regulatory risks. The Compliance Surveillance Technology team collaborates closely with other Compliance, Legal, and Information Technology teams. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge surveillance technologies, participate in firm-wide initiatives, and contribute significantly to the success of the business.

Key Accountabilities:

Customer:

– Utilize deep expertise in communication surveillance to deliver and ensure the availability of the necessary technologies, tools, processes, and documentation to meet monitoring objectives and regulatory mandates.

– Implement the engineering strategy concerning the introduction of tools and automation of build, test, release, and configuration activities across all relevant technologies and systems.

– Ensure operational solutions integrate with enterprise-based tools and processes as part of automated/self-serve application, platform, or infrastructure releases.

– Collaborate with partners across Technology to identify and leverage synergies that meet business needs.

– Act as a lead innovator and agent of change for managed programs and services.

– Implement best practices for engineering and management in coordination with other teams.

– Stay updated with vendor platform trends, products, frameworks, and applications.

– Manage stakeholder engagement and impacts across the enterprise effectively.

– Interpret client needs, assess engineering requirements, and identify solutions for non-standard requests.

Shareholder:

– Apply best practices and industry knowledge to improve products or services.

– Monitor and control costs within the scope of work.

– Interact with governance and control groups to provide subject matter expertise on risk issues related to engineering technology and tools.

– Contribute to or negotiate third-party contracts/agreements.

– Maintain knowledge of external developments, market conditions, and their impact on engineering solutions.

– Proactively identify and integrate emerging technologies and innovative solutions to enhance Communication Surveillance systems.

Breadth & Depth:

– Provide ongoing support to end-users, ensuring successful adoption and efficiency.

– Configure applications to meet requirements and ensure data quality and completeness.

– Train end-users on application use and data interpretation.

– Liaise with other business and technology teams to assess and manage risks and follow up on issues identified during communication reviews.

– Possess in-depth knowledge of data strategy, governance, and integration principles.

– Prepare metrics and reports on the program’s applicability and effectiveness.

– Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

– Familiarity with vendor solutions such as Behavox, Smarsh, Global Relay, Theta Lake, and Mobius.

– Troubleshoot problems using tools and routine procedures, escalating as appropriate.

– Execute scheduled maintenance routines following standard procedures.

– Document procedures, architectural blueprints, and testing methodologies.

– Basic cybersecurity knowledge.

Education & Experience:

– University or post-graduate technical degree (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).

– 3+ years of relevant Communication Surveillance experience at a large global bank.

– Experience with cloud technologies and architectures.

– Experience with various electronic communication platforms and data types.

– Knowledge of analytical concepts (e.g., Databases, Indexes, Lexicons, Scenarios, and Models).

– Experience with minor scripting on data types and interfaces (e.g., XML, CSV, EML, API) is a plus.

Working Hours:

– Full-time position with standard working hours, with flexibility as needed to meet business demands.
