SUMMARY:
The Senior Datacenter Engineer is a subject matter expert with experience spanning virtualization, compute, network, storage, and Cloud technologies.
The individual will serve as a technical lead delivering datacenter transformation, cloud computing, end-user computing, backup and recovery and hyperconverged & converged solutions, as well as performing as a cross-functional expert in consulting workshops.
Primary responsibility is for project execution, completion of project deliverables, and ongoing support engagements. This position reports to the Manager of Digital Architecture.
General Responsibilities:
- Assess, design, and implement enterprise data center solutions
- Serve as a virtualization, compute, network, and storage subject matter expert in consulting strategy, design, and planning
- Install and configure datacenter hardware/software which includes network backup, server storage and virtualization
- Contribute to the definition and continuous refinement of delivery processes and documentation
- Stay current with emerging technologies as they mature
- Deploy datacenter technologies with the highest level of client satisfaction
- Troubleshoot and support client datacenter technologies
- Develop level-of-efforts and assist in high-level scoping of technical projects
- Deliver system requirements and specifications as directed
- Deliver system architecture documentation
- Stay current with emerging technologies as they mature
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Must have 5+ years in post-sales delivery in a professional service setting
- Broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, network, storage, and Cloud technologies
- Experience related to current storage technologies including object-based storage, utility scale persistent storage, distributed unified storage and autonomous storage allocation
- Familiarity with all aspects of data storage, monitoring and testing, and network requirements
- Functional knowledge of storage hardware/software such as Pure, NetApp, Nimble, Dell/EMC
- Functional knowledge of backup technologies, such as Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, and CommVault
- Knowledge of VMware technologies, server & desktop virtual, and management & orchestration
- Functional knowledge of Cisco UCS implementation and administration
- Functional knowledge of hyperconverged and converged technologies, such as Nutanix, VxRail, HyperFlex
- Knowledge of datacenter networking, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching
- Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 and productivity tools a plus.
- Working knowledge of AWS and Azure.

TRAVEL:
Our client base is concentrated in NJ/NY/PA, but we do have clients up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Depending on your tasks, you may be required to go on-site.
